August 22, 2014 – On Monday August, 18th, 2014, the Hampton Inn Westport/Fall River, adjacent to White’s of Westport on State Road, celebrated their 25th Anniversary. Past and current employees and hotel guests were invited to a lobby reception on Monday evening to celebrate the hotel’s milestone achievement. Richard Lafrance, CEO of Lafrance Hospitality Company, welcomed guests and expressed his gratitude for the hotel’s employees and their dedication to the success of the hotel.
Built and operated by Lafrance Hospitality Company in 1989, the Hampton Inn was the company’s first endeavor in the lodging industry. 25 years later, and through multiple property renovations, the 135 room hotel is still a traveler’s choice property when visiting the area. “We didn’t know what to expect when we built this hotel 25 years ago, but our dedicated employees have been instrumental to the success of this hotel and to our company as a whole”, stated Richard Lafrance.
Lafrance Hospitality Company values its employees and is proud to recognize staff who have been at the hotel since day one. Frank Lima began his tenure with the company as a front desk team member when the hotel opened and he worked his way through various roles to his current position as hotel General Manager. Two sister housekeepers, Nizalda and Alda, also started the day the hotel opened and continually remain committed to guest satisfaction and hotel cleanliness. It is estimated that Nizalda and Alda have made over 175,000 beds EACH since the hotel opened! A longtime employee, Jeanne Emard, now the assistant General Manager, has been at the hotel for nearly 20 years, but working with the Lafrance Hospitality Company for several years prior to her post at the hotel. Several other employees were also honored at the reception for their performance and commitment to the hotel.
Employees and guests enjoyed the photo albums on display harking back 25 years to the opening of the hotel and all other memorable moments through the years. Guests staying at the hotel were offered the opportunity to book a night stay for the rate of just $59 per night November 1st – December 31st, the original rate when the hotel opened 25 years ago.
