Middletown, RI – May 1, 2018 – The Holiday Inn Express Middletown/Newport, located at 855 West Main Road, announces the completion of a full property renovation. This is the first renovation to the 117-room, three-story hotel since it was acquired by Lafrance Hospitality of Westport, MA in 2016.

An exciting new feature is the 625 square-foot Newport Room. This flexible meeting space will accommodate up to 40 people for meetings, trainings, workshops, retreats, reunions, and other gatherings. Guests will enjoy amenities such as free high-speed internet, free hot Express Start Breakfast Bar, heated indoor pool, 24-hour Fitness Center, 24-hour Business Center, and ample parking. Many of the trademark design elements of the Formula Blue design by Holiday Inn Express were incorporated into the transformation. Upon entering the hotel, guests are now welcomed by a fresh lobby with modern furniture, lighting, wall treatments and finishes. The transformation expands into breakfast/dining area where a set of stylish barn doors now separate the Breakfast Bar area from the dining room. All the hallways throughout the hotel feature new wallpaper, carpeting and lighting.
The brand new, contemporary guestrooms are more functional than ever and boast a fresh, minimalist design. Each of the newly appointed rooms feature new beds, flooring, wall treatments, window treatments, sofas, chairs, desks and armoires. New mini-refrigerators and microwaves have been added to each room and bedding has been upgraded with new mattresses, box springs and duvets. Guest bathrooms have also received extensive renovations, including new vanities, plumbing fixtures and lighting.
On Tuesday, May 22nd, the Holiday Inn Express Middletown/Newport will be hosting a Grand Reopening event to share and celebrate these exciting changes. A ribbon cutting ceremony will take place at 5pm, followed by a cocktail reception from 5-7pm. Attendees will have the opportunity to tour all the transformed spaces while enjoying refreshments.
